Ken Parks, VP of Special Operations and Joint Programs
NEWPORT NEWS, Va., Nov. 7, 2022 – ITA International (ITA), a data driven company, has promoted Ken Parks to vice president of Special Operations and Joint Programs. He will be responsible for leading all international contract operations including training, security, technical services and more with government customers.
“Ken has been a key part of ITA’s success in overseas operations since he joined us in 2018,” said Mike Melo, chief executive officer, ITA. “His knowledge leading efforts such as, start-up operations, and operational efficiency and his ability to manage and oversee innovation and personnel performance are just a few of the reasons Ken is perfect for this position – he is essential in providing success for our overseas customers, In The Arena.”
Parks will kick off his new role by leading efforts associated with the recently awarded $78 million task order from the U.S. Air Force to provide support services at multiple locations across the Central Command for the Ninth Air Force (9AF) Expeditionary Security Forces Squadron.
ITA will provide security support services to 9AF, including base operations, administration, plans, Expeditionary Security Forces training and military exercises, as required by the government at: Al Dhafra Air Base, UAE; Ali Al Salem Air Base, Kuwait; Al Mubarak Air Base, Kuwait; Al Jaber Air Base, Kuwait; Prince Sultan Air Base, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia; Muwaffaq-Salti Air Base, Jordan; and Al Udeid Air Base, Qatar. The period of performance of the task order is Nov. 3, 2022 to Nov. 2027, with a possible six-month extension.
Prior to his current role at ITA, Parks performed as a director and as a senior director responsible for multiple contracts in execution and he served as capture manager for continuation contracts and new opportunities for the company. Parks retired from active duty, January 2010, with over 20 years of U.S. Army special operations service. He holds a bachelor’s in criminal justice from Sam Houston State University and a master’s degree in leadership from Central Michigan University. During his time outside the office, Parks serves on the Gathering of Mountain Eagles Board, a non-profit organization offering recreational therapy and adventure therapy for wounded or injured American military service members.
