NEWPORT NEWS, Va. April 6, 2023 – ITA International (ITA) has closed on the acquisition of Nanosafe Inc., a company that specializes in environmental health and safety of nanotechnology. The acquisition of Nanosafe will allow ITA to further carry out its vision of achieving a secure, stable and sustainable human ecosystem.

Based at the Virginia Tech Corporate Research Center in Blacksburg, Nanosafe is focused on taking a disciplined and rational scientific approach to understanding and managing environmental health and safety risks associated with nanotechnology. The team supports customers throughout industry, state and federal government agencies, and university laboratories by providing third-party testing and verification services, nanoinformatics tools, nanomaterial synthesis and characterization services, nanotechnology safety products, and contract research.
Nanosafe in now a part of the ITA Stability and Sustainability (ITASAS) business unit led by Jon Greene, president of ITASAS. Using data and technology, ITASAS works to reduce health and environmental risks, find more sustainable sources and ways to produce, store, and use energy, and find new means to manage scarce water resources. Matt Hull, founder and president of Nanosafe will become a consultant to ITA, reporting to Greene. Hull will be focused on supporting strategy and business development.
