FlowSciences FS11300 Model #ETA363024ABA Process Workstation
Manufactured by Flow Sciences, Inc. (Leland, NC)
ITA evaluated the containment of aerosolized nanoparticles by a Flow Sciences, Inc., FS11300 (Model # ETA363024ABA), 3’ Process Workstation with Bag-in/Bag-out, Dual HEPA Filtration. Testing was adapted from ASHRAE 110-1995, and involved traverse-testing of the workstation sash and HEPA exhaust during aerosolization of SiO2 nanoparticles with a geometric mean diameter of 26 nm. The test provides a useful measure of an enclosure’s ability to contain aerosolized nanomaterials.

Labconco Protector© Stainless Steel ULPA Filtered Glove Box
Manufactured by Labconco (Kansas City, MO)
ITA evaluated the containment of aerosolized nanoparticles by a Labconco Protector® Stainless Steel ULPA Filtered Glove Box. Testing was adapted from ASHRAE 110-1995, and involved traverse-testing of the glove box window, ULPA exhaust, valves, and transfer chamber doors during aerosolization of SiO2 nanoparticles with a geometric mean diameter of 26 nm. The test provides a useful measure of an enclosure’s ability to contain aerosolized nanomaterials.

Labconco XPert Nano
Manufactured by Labconco (Kansas City, MO)
ITA developed a testing program to independently evaluate the generation and containment of a controlled nanoaerosol inside a Labconco XPert® Nano™ System. The purpose of the evaluation was to compare nanoparticulate levels generated inside the enclosure via a specialized ejector to particulate levels around the enclosure’s sash opening and ultra low penetration air (ULPA) filtration exhaust. Test methods integrated aerosolization and characterization strategies described in peer-reviewed studies and one existing test method developed for fume hoods.
