NEWPORT NEWS, Va., Dec. 14, 2020 – ITA International (ITA) announced it has selected retired U.S. Navy Vice Admiral Tom Moore to join the company’s Board of Advisors, effective Dec. 1.
Prior to his retirement this year, after 39 years of service, Moore was the 44th Commander of Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA). As NAVSEA Commander, he was responsible for leading a global workforce of more than 74,000 military and civilian personnel accountable for the development, delivery and maintenance of the U.S. Navy’s ships, submarines and systems.
Moore graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 1981 with a bachelor’s degree in math and operations analysis. He also holds a degree in information systems management from George Washington University and a master’s and an engineer’s degree in nuclear engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
“Tom’s years of success with the Navy give him the ability to bring an in-depth knowledge and understanding of what our government customers need and want,” said Mike Melo, chief executive officer, ITA. “As a member of our Board of Advisors, he will advise us on our decision-making processes, in hopes providing our customers with the high quality service for which ITA . The Board of Advisors meets quarterly, with the objective to provide guidance to company leaders, offer expertise to gain a competitive market advantage and provide assistance in the hiring and retention of talent.
