NEWPORT NEWS, Va., Feb. 23, 2022 – ITA International (ITA) was selected by Idaho National Laboratory (INL) to support its work on the Department of Energy’s (DOE) Cybersecurity for the Operational Technology Environment (CyOTETM) research initiative, which includes cybersecurity research, threat analysis and the development of capabilities to identify cyber attack techniques.
“ITA specializes in cybersecurity. We combine domain expertise, technical insight and analytical approaches to solve customers’ problems,” said Keith McGhee, president of ITA Data Solutions. “We are ready and excited to support INL, and its partners to heighten cyber threat detection.”
In support of CyOTE, ITA will create a probabilistic risk analysis model that can be used to determine the impacts of cyber attacks, as they are happening. The resulting model will be applied to over 25 historical case studies to create dynamic, real-time cyber attack assessments.
DOE’s Office of Cybersecurity, Energy Security and Emergency Response (CESER) partnered with Idaho National Laboratory and energy companies on the CyOTE initiative which aims to enhance energy sector threat detection of anomalous behavior potentially indicating malicious cyber activity in operational technology networks.
