NEWPORT NEWS, Va., Sept. 12, 2023 — ITA International (ITA), a leading provider of tech-enabled professional solutions, is proud to announce a customer-focused initiative aimed at better aligning the company’s services with the needs and goals of its valued internal and external customers. These strategic changes in the organizational structure are designed to foster collaboration, improve customer satisfaction and contribute to shared success.
“The changes we’re introducing at ITA demonstrate our commitment to our customers, both internal and external,” said Mike Melo, CEO, and owner of ITA. “We believe by aligning our services and enhancing our customer experience, we can better serve those, In The Arena, and achieve new levels of excellence together.”
Keith McGhee, formerly president of the Data Solutions business unit, now serves as chief operating officer. With over 25 years of experience, McGhee has successfully delivered comprehensive business and IT solutions to government organizations like the Department of Defense, Homeland Security and the State Department. McGhee’s expertise encompasses data analytics, enterprise software development, data center management and more. His prior executive roles at CACI and American Systems have been marked by significant contributions to their success.
In addition to McGhee’s promotion, the organizational restructuring includes various strategic appointments that reflect ITA’s unwavering commitment to elevate customer focus and firmly establish the company as a leader in technology-enabled professional services. This restructuring includes the division of the Global Security, Data Solutions, and Stability and Sustainability business units into two distinct entities.
Mike Akhbari, business unit president, will oversee Operational Support, providing support to organizations such as the U.S. Air Force, U.S. Special Operations Forces, U.S. Army and U.S. Coast Guard. Jon Greene, business unit president, will lead Innovative Solutions, dedicated to supporting organizations including the U.S. Navy, The U.S. Marine Corps, the Department Homeland Security, the Department of Energy, NASA, the U.S. Intelligence Community and National Institutes of Health.
To better address the specific needs of each business unit and deliver greater value to customers, the new structure also introduces ITA Innovation Advisers, led by Dennis Buede, chief of Innovation and Frank Byrum, vice president of Innovation. These advisers will serve as technical guides for external customer projects, ensuring cutting-edge solutions and services.
In addition to the business units and the Innovation Advisers, McGhee will also oversee the recruiting team, to ensure a unified approach that aligns recruitment efforts with the company’s commitment to customer service, creating a workplace that attracts and nurtures top talent.
Additionally, the establishment of a new business area, called Enterprise Services (ES) led by Katelyn Byrd, chief of Enterprise Services, accentuates ITA’s commitment to internal customer satisfaction. This change in internal structure, empowers ITAers (employees of ITA) to deliver innovation and excellence to external customers with specialized teams within ES, including Contracts, Communications and Branding, Corporate Development, Human Resources and Proposals. These teams will collaborate to guarantee a seamless experience for all ITAers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and shared success.
Additional organizational changes:
Kathy Melo, owner and chief of Governance will oversee Facilities and Security, along with Meredith Cline, who has been promoted to vice president of Charities and Community Relations. Amber Lempke, chief of People, will join ES as chief of Corporate Development, leading ITA’s merger and acquisition efforts. Nicole Jacobson will continue as vice president of Human Resources (HR), responsible for all aspects of HR functions and processes, apart from recruiting.
The customer-first culture extends to every part, position and person working with or at ITA. This restructured approach, reinforced by a commitment to customer service excellence, will foster collaboration, innovation and a shared commitment to growth.
“At ITA, we believe that our customers are the heart of our success,” said Melo. “These strategic changes highlight our unwavering commitment to delivering excellence and value to every customer. As we begin this exciting journey at ITA, we are looking forward to achieving new milestones of excellence.”
